Top 5 money saving ways to celebrate Valentine’s day
Valentines day is right around the corner, which is the perfect excuse for all your friends (single or not), to get together and fully celebrate the day. It’s important that we don’t get bogged down in uni work all the time and give our brains a rest. Also, a good excuse for some really good food. So grab your friends and try out these money saving ways of celebrating Valentine’s day.
Cook a meal for your friends
Cooking a meal, sitting down together and having a natter is such an underrated thing to do these days, but it is so much fun (and cheap). Grab your friends, chill out from uni and have some good food. Need some food inspiration? Click here for the perfect recipe for Valentines.
Come Dine with me
Get your friends together and each person (or you can pair up if there’s enough of you) can bring either a starter, main or dessert. It is the perfect way of getting everyone involved and everyone can easily share the cost and it is time saving. What more could you want?

Bring a Dish
Similar to the ‘Come Dine with Me’, but instead everyone brings a dish of their choice. This is a great way of trying new food and getting to know your friends better. Not to mention a perfect opportunity to try out new recipes that you might have never even heard of.
Bake-Off
Do you aspire to be like Mary Berry? (who doesn’t she’s amazing). Have a bake-off competition with your friends by trying to make your own show-stopper (or at least attempt to make a show-stopper). Maybe even watch some bake-off and what ever challenge the contestants have to do, you and your friends also have to compete. You could even make it interesting and set a prize for the winner.
Game night
Have some food, show your friends how much you love each other, then ruin it with a game of Monopoly, sounds perfect to me (and it costs nothing). It is also a great way to destress after an intense week at uni, by letting it all out in a game.
Game ideas: monopoly, card games, Pictionary, taboo. -These are my favourite but if you guys want to add more, then just comment below.
Hope you have a fab Valentine’s, and if you want to give your ideas then just comment in the space below!
